Project team: Deltares (lead, NL), Ramboll (DK), RDS (IE), Tecnalia (ES), Maple Consulting (UK)
The issue identified: National Road Authorities face competing pressures of wanting to achieve maximum adaptation of their networks to climate change and having limited budgets
The work undertaken: This ongoing project seeks to build on significant previous research in the area and help enable the next step to full implementation in all processes and on all organizational levels of the NRAs. ICARUS will develop a framework to hep NRAs. The project will furthermore identify current barriers and gaps for technical execution of resilience assessments and suggest how to overcome these and develop a framework to identify the processes required to determine adaptation options. Case studies of good practice will be developed and uploaded to the project portal. Implementation will be ensured via development of training material and guidelines.
The outcome: Ongoing projects with deliverables on the website >
The benefit to the client: The outputs will be valuable to the sponsoring organisations in developing and implementing adaptation strategies
